The Local Positioning System(LPS), developed by Sealartec, is essential for establishing precise relative positioning data when connecting or retrieving Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs)or Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs) from their mother platforms. It combines data from three near-range sensors, providing accurate information to the control system without relying on GPS. This positioning data enables autonomous maneuvering and triggers the recovery process for our systems. The LPS is integrated into all Sealartec products and is available as a standalone unit to meet customer needs.
